A good day for the Museum at the Marton Olympics

Marton Museum had another successful open day at  the Marton Olympics on 30th June 2012. The weather behaved itself and we had
plenty of visitors.  We recruited six new Friends and virtually all of the existing ones whose subscriptions were due for renewal this month have paid up again.  What with that, plus the sale of a few photographs and booklets, our takings for the day came to over £100.  This small source of funds is very useful for minor running costs and every penny helps.  Thank you to everybody who contributed.  Our next big event will be opening for the national Heritage Open Days event on the weekend of 8th and 9th September when we hope to receive visitors from across the county  This is a free event but donations are always welcome.  If you still haven't seen the Museum why not come along?  It's suitable for all ages and most people are absolutely amazed when they see it for the first time. The Museum Volunteers will not be meeting again during July and August but work carries on behind the scenes on    classificaton, the bid for the Heritage Lottery Grant etc....
